For 22 years, the Outback Bowl has hosted the nation’s Boldest Rivalry in Tampa, Florida. This year, the SEC’s Florida Gators (#20) – team Bloomin’ Onion – faced off against the Big Ten’s Iowa Hawkeyes (#21) – Team Coconut Shrimp – at Raymond James Stadium. In a decisive victory, the Florida Gators defeated the Hawkeyes 30 – 3 and solidified the Bloomin’ Onion as this year’s free appetizer for Outback customers nationwide.

This is Outback’s fifth-annual nationwide appetizer giveaway based on the outcome of the Outback Bowl. After SEC's Tennessee Volunteers took home the trophy last year, Outback Steakhouse restaurants gave away more than 91,000 Bloomin’ Onions to guests around the country, and they’re hoping to top that record this year.
